Introducing, Mosley Bar, a Indie/rock/pop band from North West, England (Skelmersdale/Wigan area). The band members are Ryan Ward – Guitar/Lead Vocals, Matthew Wright – Drums, Tim Williams – Bass/Vocals and Adam Eccleston – Guitar. Mosley Bar came to be after Ryan and Matthew’s previous band, The Inkhearts, disbanded. They soon met up with Adam and Tim to do what they love to do best, create and perform music.

Like with every band they all bring along their own influences to the table, some of them include Two Door Cinema Club, Catfish & the Bottlemen, The Libertines and Circa Waves. Using these influences wisely they aim to create their own unique style and sound. They have released two recorded tracks since forming, Record Sleeve being the first and was released in August. It was through them sharing this track to our Soundcloud Submission page that I found and messaged the band. Soundcloud is a great place, if used right, to get music heard and by having our own group on it, will allow us to discover more new bands/artists.

Mosley Bar are currently in the studio recording some new tracks for release in the New Year and have upcoming gigs at Mono, Manchester – 4th December, Arts Club, Liverpool – 11th December and The Zanzibar, Liverpool – 18th December. Its safe to say the bands determined and enthusiastic at getting their sound out in the North West and I look forward to hearing their future releases.

Record Sleeve is a strong debut release, which they should be proud of. It has a great sound, catchy chorus and vocals which suit the song. The sound they have produced struck me as being a well-balanced, professional and mature sound, one which you’d expect from a veteran rock band. Their sound has a faint resemblance, for me at least, to Bastille who have a similar vocal style and pop/indie sound. It was all this that appealed to me when first discovering the track on Soundcloud. Overall, a excellent debut release and I shall be eagerly anticipating their new recordings in the new year.
